Who is Financial Planner?

A financial panner is licensed by Securities Commission and/or Bank Negara Malaysia. He/she acts independently and is not representing any financial institutions; he/she is abide by the Professional Code of Ethics therefore he/she acts to the BEST interest of his/her client.

 

How to become A Financial Planner?

The following are the minimum qualification required before one can apply license for the respective regulator.

To qualify as a Financial Planner, you are required to have either:

1.     CFP – Certified Financial Planner

2.     IFP –  Islamic Financial Planner

3.     RFP – Registered Financial Planner

4.     Syariah RFP – Syariah Registered Financial Planner

Upon complete of the above requirement, you need to have three years of relevant working experience before applying for license.  

 

The Prospect of A Financial Planner

Those who stay in the profession over 15 years can expect to earn well over $300,000 per year. In fact, financial planning is such a lucrative profession that over 15% of financial planners are middle-class millionaires with net worths ranging from $1 million to $10 million. But breaking into the profession can be difficult and first requires finding an internship and usually working without an income for a year or two.”
